Warm and Full body to this set. Take distortion and OD pedals very well. This set was inspired by the playing and tonal qualities of EJ.
This is our version of a set that will bring you that tonal range and a tad more.
A unique stagger pattern is used for each pickup and a mix of two alnico magnets make this possible.
Out put is approx.
Neck 5.8k 52mm spacing, Middle 6.1k 52mm spacing, Bridge 6.85k 52mm spacing and Inductance Neck 2.76 Middle 2.95 Bridge 3.26 by Henries.

I installed a D Allen loaded pickguard with Dovers into my Frankencaster, and have been unable to put it down since. The tone is remarkable - everything you love about a Strat, kicked up a notch or two. Perhaps slightly hotter than the USA Custom Shop Texas Specials I've grown accustomed to in my other Strat, while also so much warmer, fuller and rounder. I don't know if EJ has heard these things, but I'm guessing that Baron von Tone himself would approve heartily!

First off, the customer service is exceptional.  You can get a fast response by email as well as being able to talk to David personally if needed Second these pick ups are the most well balanced set of pups I have ever heard from E to E Next the clarity and note separation is amazing even when they are over driven They produce excellent clean tones from tight creamy lows to creamy non brittle highs.  The pickups are strong enough to produce excellent cleans but can push an amp into that nice sweet spot just past the cleans into tube break up.  They also handle OD pedals well.  Every set of strat pups have always sounded the same to me but not these they are genuine to produce the strat tones you are looking for and also able to produce tones that are definitely unique to the maker.  They are by far the best Strat PUPs I have ever played.  Thank you so much David for helping a tone junky like me to find the dream set I have been after.

Las Dover cubren cualquier estilo sin esfuerzo y entregando excelentes resultados.

Cubren desde los tonos más clásicos de Strato hasta los tonos de alta ganancia, siempre con autoridad, con una definición extraordinaria, bajo nivel de ruido y excelente nivel de excitación de las etapas de ganancia del ampli.

Las he probado con un cableado especial que me permite poner en serie las pastillas y, el resultado es líquido y definido, incluso en alta ganancia.

Fabulosas en tonos clásicos con un Bassman o, en alta ganancia, a través de pedales. Excelente sobre-armónicos en alta ganancia y un sustain y cuerpo deliciosos.

I emailed David a few weeks back telling him I was looking for a strat pickup with a little more girth and clarity.  He recommended a set of Dover's for my late 80's Japanese Squire strat, so I ordered them.  I received the pickups today and just finished installing them.  All I can say is (and I mean this sincerely) O-M-G!!  These Dover pickups are absolutely amazing.  Clean--clear--GREAT quack in positions 2 and 4--and a SOLID low end with amazing warmth.  And for a true single coil they are VERY quiet.  I don't know how David does it, but every set of pickups I've purchased from him have ALWAYS delivered.  He's like this mad scientist of pickup winders--and I mean that in the very best of ways.  Thanks David for the great recommendation!

After having played the Big Cats I tried these from David. The Dovers are noticeably louder than the big cats and has an edgy aggressiveness to them when played hard. The best thing about these are, that they are very dynamic , transparent and articulate and can sound very smooth or quite aggressive depending on one's style of playing. I just loved the neck pickup, because of its smooth violin -ish tone and the bridge can produce some nice crunch as well as get very smooth. The pickups are very present in the midrange frequencies, so the amp or pedals have to be set up accordingly. Overall, I am more than satisfied with these and they do help you get closer to that EJ tone and of course doing business with David is always a pleasure; He is one of the nicest persons around.
